About you:

Are you searching for fun, entry level position?  Do you want to go to work knowing you're making a difference? Do you want to be a part of a strong, supportive organization that values it's employees?  If so, then you should consider becoming a Life Skills Coach.

What we do:

Good-2-Go Oregon is Central Oregon's premiere community-based support program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Independent Living Services (ILS) department helps our clients learn valuable skills to live their own independent lives.

What you will do:

Our Life Skills Coaches help clients achieve their goals by providing in-home services focused around the teaching of important life skills.  Common examples include teaching an employee how to cook, maintain their household, and keep track of their finances.  Generally speaking, our clients enjoy being active in the community and may need some support when outside their homes.  Because of this "community engagement" goals tend to be a large part of the Life Skills Coach's role.

A typical day varies based on the client supported but generally includes:

  • Assisting the client with household tasks
  • Ensuring the client fulfills financial obligations and other responsibilities
  • Accompanying the client in the community (eg to go shopping)
  • Providing cognitive and emotional support when needed

Typical Hours:

Day Shift, Monday-Friday (no nights or weekends).

Schedules ranging from 20 - 35 hours per week.
